Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get services for my child through Heart 4 Kids Therapy?
Answer:
If you are concerned about your child, you can make a referral
by calling our office at (727) 202-9200. We will take your
information and coordinate a referral with your physician.
What information do I need when I refer my child?
Answer:
We will need your child's name, date of birth, insurance
information, and physician's name. We will also need your name, home address, and telephone number.
What is the referral process like, and how long does it take?
Answer:
Once we have your child’s information, we send a referral to your
child's physician to obtain doctor's orders. Once we have gotten
the doctor’s orders, one of our therapists will call you to schedule
an evaluation. The referral process usually takes between 1-7
days.
What happens after the evaluation?
Answer:
The therapist will explain the results of the evaluation to you
and make recommendations. Once the evaluation is completed,
we get doctor's orders to complete any therapy that has been
recommended and obtain any necessary authorizations from your
insurance company. Once these steps are complete your child’s
therapist(s) will call to schedule treatment. This process generally
takes 7-10 days.
My child does not qualify for therapy at the school
district. Can they still get services from Heart 4 Kids
Therapy?
Answer:
Yes. While the school districts must follow an educational model
for therapy, meaning that the delay or disorder must interfere
with the child's ability to learn in a school environment, Heart 4
Kids Therapy follows a medical model. We treat delays and disorders related to speech, language, and occupational
skills that interfere with a person's ability to participate
in all aspects of their life. Because of this difference, we are
frequently able to provide therapy services for children who do
not qualify for services through their school district.
My child already receives therapy through the school/Early Steps/FDLRS. Can he/she still get services from Heart 4 Kids
Therapy?
Answer:
Yes. Heart 4 Kids Therapy can provide therapy in addition to
services received through your child’s school district, Early Steps or FDLRS.
Does Heart 4 Kids therapy Provide Occupational
Therapy and/or Physical Therapy?
Answer:
Heart 4 Kids Therapy is excited to now offer occupational therapy!
We hope to offer physical therapy in the near future.
How long will my child need therapy?
Answer:
Since every child is different, we cannot guarantee a
time frame for therapy. A child will be discharged
from therapy when all therapy goals have been
met and he or she demonstrates skills that are
within normal limits on a standardized assessment.
When is payment required?
Answer:
Payment is required at time of service unless otherwise specified.
If you have payment questions or concerns, please contact us for payment options.
Is my child eligible to receive services from Heart 4
Kids Therapy?
Answer:
